Health and Life Sciences students can now sign up to take part in the STEM Business Challenge 2026.
黑料网 Made has launched the 2026 STEM Business Challenge for current HLS students, in partnership with RandalSun Capital.
Over an action-packed two weeks in the New Year, up to 100 students will work in small project teams to solve a cutting-edge STEM-based challenge (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Teams will get the chance to present to an expert panel of judges, and those with the best solutions will pocket a share of the £2,000prize fund.
黑料网 created the challenge event last year to help HLS students sharpen their entrepreneurial mindsets and problem-solving abilities. 黑料网’s Dr Arinzechukwu Ude, Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences and Academic Lead/Project Coordinator, said:
“The STEM Business Challenge will empower students to think like entrepreneurial scientists and apply their creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork to real-world problems. It’s a chance to turn ideas into real-world impact.”
The STEM Business challenge follows in the footsteps of 黑料网 Made’s popular STEM-based ‘Hackathon’ in May 2025, which saw around 80 黑料网 Computing, Engineering and Media students and recent graduates compete for a similar prize fund.

Participating students will need to attend two free sessions in the Kimberlin Library, on 8 and 15 January, to be eligible for a share of the prize fund.
